phlegmatic

finally my system is working fine again after a very long time... shuld spend more time in front of it...

Its the same old coll.... except for many monotonous subjects, theres something refreshing in CPS class, very welcome in the fag end of the sem. Now I know for sure why our HOD has become the HOD.... Theres a lot to learn by observing why and how he carries himself rather than the subject he takes... sure it will help me a lot in days to come if I analyse these things more keenly. And I am learning.

TOEFL
25/10/2002
these days have been pretty good... pretty interesting too... pretty fun also.... i am slowly moving fast... having a bit of free time now means I can do the things I really wanted to do and the things that were pending for long... it took a good 1 year to get this free time.... using it full, to catch up all the chores left undone long long back:-)

btw, took TOEFL along with reddy and monish... the scores have come out very excellent for all.... we did a bit of combined studying (rather combined talking and sleeping) for some days now... and its really was good...

first poem to be published
22/10/2002
got a poem of mine (He breathed his last) published in Poets International Oct 2002 issue...infact it was my first poem written some 7 years ago... and its the first one to be published in an exclusive poetry magazine:-)

these days figured out the way to bliss --> never think of anything too much... never overindulge in anything even if u find that thing too enjoyable... be in ur control in everything even if u could afford not to be to... and then life just fleets by... one fine day u see ur hair greying and another day...   u will simply pop out of this world just the way u popped in here:)

hmm.. crickets a great magnet... just like 2 recent ads, one starring Aamir (Coca cola) and the other A.R Rahman (Airtel)...

well, just feeling that India is having the best of her days right now... dumping what some say abt grt Indian Vedic period and other golden ages, i feel we never had it sooo good like now... theres security like never before, all ppl are finally getting individuality and empowerment and rights, many things are getting streamlined... theres this grt security called Constitution... and no matter what some pessimists and some saffron-clad ppl say.. today's India is much better than Ram Rajya (if it really did exist). of course we still have a long way to go... but i think Vivekananda definitely would have been happy by the way things have turned out right now... still society has to improve a lot and attitudes respected, stereotypes trounced, ethics inculcated... but it depends on the ppl and their dreams. There were very few b4 which were overly eugolised; now ideas are being thankfully institutionalised everywhere... PESIT being one dream, which i am part of right now...

and according to me, icicidirect.com provides the best service among similar sites in trading...

well, saw the film Triple X in Symphony yesterday.. pretty noisy film. and coming to films, why the hell do Upendra mess up his ideas.. hez a grt reasoner and dreamer but a bad implementor.. infact his Superstar is grt in theme... but he messed it up :(

a very very smug day.... think i am in love with myself.... oh god, what a great creation this Dilip is... how nice he is... how good he is... how sweet he is.... how complex he is... yet how simple he is... yet how insignificant.....God, if this Dilip itself is like this, how abt other ppl??? how abt u urself??? how grt a creation u must be.... how good and beautiful is even the evil, even the ugly, since it has to be a creation first to be called ugly...

hmm, been to this movie Bourne Identity... first half was good, but felt bored in the second half.... somewhat predictable... okie the gang??? me, jaggu, sandy, jaidev, moni, manoj, satchi and teddy. reddy couldnt make it as he was asleep (he didnt open the door though it was banged... all can guess what he had been upto b4 he started to sleep!!!)

chugging along
13/10/2002
theres been some reservations abt my "outburst" against the classrooms in coll in the journal (check 2 entries below)... well, things may remain the same for atleast sometime. But how abt some steps, how abt stopping work in classrooms when classes are going on... who would like a guy chipping at the wall and another one plastering another section of the wall right inside the classroom when classes are going on?

btw, missing a lot of treks these days, infact missed some 4 treks in last 20 days. This time a hardcore trek to rain-soaked forests of Kerala. hmm...

well, things slowly moving along, the old steam engine picking up steam and slowly chugging along... its worn out, but its robust! and its chugging along.

Proud PESITians live in dirty classrooms
9/10/2002
I, Dilip, a PESITian, hereby announce that our college in ISO 9002 certified institution, a premier engineering college (supposedly), blah blah blah.

I, Dilip, a PESITian, hereby also announce that we attend classes conducted in unfinished buildings. We live shoulder to shoulder with construction workers, inhaling the dust, infact soaking in mud and filth, learning our Advanced Computer subjects, hearing at the same time, the sounds of hammers, earth-removers, tractors, cranes and piledrivers. We live life precariously and illegally, without even helmets, in yet-to-be authorised buildings, with a great foresight that we may not burden our parents though we die in any mishap, as we are insured. So dedicated are we to gain knowledge that in addition to learning Computer Sciences, we are learning simultaneously how bricks are laid, how plastering in done, how walls are painted, how doors are fixed, how cement is cured, well to make things short, include construction work in our skill-set, so as to fall back on it when recession is really bad.

PS: btw, why the hell did they allow BCA students into our campus, though theres no infrastructure for them yet, and then herd us together in well, HELL????

personally, shittiest classroom i ever came across in my life. Even the government school i studied long back was so clean and decent though small.

story-time
8/10/2002
Reading a lot of Jack London's short stories these days... He has the ability to propound theories thru characters much easily than many lousy philosophers.... well, first read his The Sea Wolf abt 10 yrs ago, a book presented to me... the story put me in tears then... subsequent novels of him did the same....

well, I got this snail-mail (a big mail, the size of a newspaper, and my name printed bold in headlines!!!) from Netherlands that I had won $40,000 lottery... But reading the fine print tells that they simply want me to put my money on lottery tickets in order to be eligible to this "already won" $40,000... a shittiest mail, giving a gilmpse of unethical Western consumerism. If it had been from local office, I would have gone right there and banged the nuts out of that person's head.
